Shaquille O’Neal has been making waves in the electronic dance music scene. He even has his own DJ name, DJ Diesel. He recently performed at the Governor’s Ball Music Festival in New York. The crowds seem to love his sets and he seems to love playing for them, feeding off their energy. It has always been about having fun for Shaq, who actually loses money on most of his performances.

O’Neal’s son, Myles O’Neal is a DJ himself who got invested in this industry because of his father. While his dad is out performing shows, Myles is busy remixing songs. His latest remix is of the song ‘Big Bank’ by artist YG. The song can probably electrify any crowd. Myles posted a snippet of his remix on his Instagram page.

As any father would do, Shaq shared his son’s post on his story, giving the song more exposure. The O’Neals look like they are having a lot of fun producing music as DJs.

Shaquille O’Neal used to rap during his early years in the NBA. He even had numerous features in songs with rappers in the 90s. DJing wasn’t a major part of his life during his playing days but he still used to play a few sets sometimes for his friends.

His love for electronic music started after he attended the TommorowWorld Music Festival in 2015. He got so hooked on it that he stopped caring about the money that was being spent on his performances. In an interview with SiriusXM a few days back, Shaq revealed why he loves being a DJ.

O’Neal said, “I’m all about this base music, I’m all about this culture, I’m all about these shows.” He also mentioned that he actually lost money during these shows, “It ain’t about the money for me. It’s about going on the stage and 50K, 60K, 100K screaming, me giving ’em a good time.” For Shaq, it’s all about giving people their money’s worth, saying, “If you pay your money to see me, I gotta give you something.”

O’Neal is a legend of the game of basketball. He is also a philanthropist who loves trying out new things and investing in various businesses. If his DJing career can come anywhere close to his NBA career, then he’ll definitely be remembered as a legendary DJ.
