Shaquille O’Neal declined the offer to invest in Starbucks and open up stores across the United States. However, Lakers legend Magic Johnson took up this offer. With this investment, Magic Johnson made a sum of 100 million dollars. Despite having a net worth of $400 million, O’Neal continues to regret the decision he took. Having said that, O’Neal isn’t someone who is fazed by failure.
O’Neal turned down the opportunity with Starbucks as he thought “black people don’t drink coffee” because he has not seen his family drink coffee. And this strong belief cost him $100 million.

He said, “Before you succeed, you must first learn to fail.” However, he advised that after one fails, one must not repeat the same mistake. He stated that the actions of the past that led to failure must be deleted from memory and practice.
O’Neal claimed that in the world there are only a handful of people who don’t experience failure. The rest of the world, on the other hand, has to work hard for success and good treats in life. They are required to fight day in and day out to move forward and create an impact in society or the world. He said, “Disappointment will only make you stronger.”

Shaq reiterated the fact that he never thinks about failure. The negative factor is never in his circle of thoughts. However, he has another way of looking at things.
O’Neal said, “I always think about the positive outcome.” Having said that, he dwelled on the theme of reality. He stated that despite thinking about a positive and perfect outcome when reality hits things may fail.
According to O’Neal, this is where an individual has to learn to adjust. He said, “Life is all about adjustments.” O’Neal further added that the quicker one learns to adjust, the better one will be not just in life but also in business.
