Before Shaquille O’Neal learned how to invest wisely in businesses and make millions off of them, he used to spend a lot. He still does to this day, but used to do it at a much higher scale back in the day. He once spent a million dollars on Rolls Royce just to trigger a Bentley salesman and also bought three expensive cars in less than a few hours.

Back in the day, Shaq used to blow thousands of dollars of cash on an array of expensive commodities. In his prime, he was one of the highest-paid players in the NBA and this was all but a small change for him. On top of that, the Los Angeles Lakers legend had tons of endorsements and he still does to this day. Eventually, he grew more disciplined in his expenditure and decided to invest in long-lasting wealth. And this resulted in him accumulating a net worth of over $400 million.

But when someone pisses him off about not being able to afford some things, Shaq gets pissed off. And this one such story where he spent a million dollars just because he was insulted.

When Shaq signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, he wanted to live the lifestyle of a star. Therefore, he went to a Rolls Royce dealership, a luxurious car brand. He was asking around about car prices. And Mike Tyson was also there asking about cars.

But one old man came up to him seeing Shaq in his flip-flops and asked if he could afford this. Shaq said, “So I am looking at the cars how much is this 450k how much is this 350…so the guy he says son can you afford these..and now I am pissed so I got get three”

Another story is where Shaq bought cars for himself and his parents. He was a young teenager when he got his first million and he wanted to celebrate. So he went to a Benz dealership and bought a car for $150,000. And when his dad asked where his car was, he got him one too. However, afterwards, the four-time NBA champion’s mother felt a little left out in all of this. Therefore, Shaq went ahead a bought her a little car too. At the time, he didn’t have in-depth knowledge of taxes. Therefore, he almost exhausted his million in the process.

Luckily for Shaq, a good friend of his dad advised him not to spend so much and asked him to invest and save up. And Shaq listened to him and made smart decisions from then. However, the Big Diesel is still famous for making big purchases occasionally.
