Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest ever to have played the game of basketball. The Los Angeles Lakers legend was a man-mountain who dominated players for fun. Fans loved him and his peers respected him. Shaq had many friends from inside the NBA and from other sports, too. His one such friend is an all-time great golfer, Tiger Woods, whom Shaq even defended once.

The Orlando Magic selected Shaquille O’Neal as the first overall pick in the 1992 NBA Draft. Orlando was an expansion franchise that was looking to establish itself in the NBA. Shaq did just that and much more. In the next draft, Orlando traded for Penny Hardaway Jr. and formed a dynamic duo with Shaq. They would take Orlando to the 1995 NBA Finals, becoming the fastest expansion team to reach the NBA Finals.

Shaq, though, would leave Orlando for the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 1996 and team up with Kobe Bryant.
