Brittney Griner has had to make a significant number of adjustments following her return from Russia. Having spent 10 months in the Soviet country following her detainment, the Phoenix Mercury center has missed quite a lot that has taken place during the time. However, Griner is grateful for one particular situation that has remained unchanged. During a recent press conference, the 2014 NBA champion opened up about the one thing that troubled her during her time in prison.
BG had been playing overseas since 2014 during the offseason. She was detained at Moscow airport during one such trip when she was found to be in possession of hash oil.

The Mercury star address the transgender-ban debate
Among the several issues she addressed was the ongoing political debate of refraining transgenders from participating in sports. BG spoke in their defense and stated that she would keep fighting for transgenders. She felt that biological males should be allowed to participate in women’s sports and called it a ‘crime’ to stop them from doing so.
