Brittney Griner supporters around the world celebrated joyfully with the recent update. Nine months of painful negotiations later, the WNBA superstar is all set to return home. President Joe Biden took the stand at the White House to announce the elating news. However, several criticized the proceedings for one major reason. Notably, while the eight-time All-Star returns, the four-year stay in Russia for Paul Whelan, a former US Marine, didn’t see any halt. In the light of an attack on Biden and Griner, a popular media celebrity stepped up in support of the decision, Jeffery Tiedrich.

Tiedrich is an American political blogger, musician, and graphics designer. His recognition comes from his views and tweets on social media. The 65-year-old was majorly against former President Trump. His takes are often transparent, and tonight was no different. As the news of Griner’s imminent release sparked backlash, Tiedrich once again launched an attack on Trump.

He referred to the time the former President had to deal with a similar situation in 2016.

In another scathing tweet, Tiedrich went back to Trump’s handling of a college student, Otto Warmbier. Similar to Brittney Griner and Whelan, Warmbier was detained in North Korea. After spending more than a year, Trump was able to negotiate his release. Unfortunately, Warmbier passed away shortly after returning to home soil.

As Griner’s release continues to face the wrath of those against the decision, Tiedrich had a message on the latest update. He said, “pro tip: if you cheered when Donald Trump brought home Otto Warmbier’s corpse, sit the f**k down and shut the f**k up about Joe Biden bringing home Brittney Griner alive. just put a big f*****g sock in it”

While Paul Whelan’s news is unfortunate, the Biden administration isn’t done with the matter. The POTUS addressed his imprisonment and assured the masses he won’t give up. Compared to Griner, Whelan’s case is said to be seen on a higher level by Russian authorities, as reported by CNN. Likewise, the matter might be a long one. However, Biden has said he has his eyes set on securing the ex-US Marine’s release as well.
