Shaquille O’Neal‘s colorful off-the-court popularity is second only to his dominant NBA career. After retiring from the league, the Lakers legend established himself as a notable analyst and a successful entrepreneur. As a businessman worth a fortune of $600 million, Shaq knows how to spend his hard-earned fortune in style. The Big Diesel’s splurges range from shopping sprees to exotic cars. However, he never hesitates to spend money on his kith and kin, as is evident from this story.

Shaquille O’Neal’s parents wanted him to get more educated. The 2000 MVP agreed to his parents’ wish but insisted that he complete his Master’s degree from a physical class. The University of Phoenix did not have an offline program for Shaq’s course and was not willing to hold classes for Shaq alone. Hence, to adhere to the conditions of the University, O’Neal convinced 15 of his friends and colleagues to take the class with him and paid their fees. Recently, the video of a similar spending spree has resurfaced on the internet, reminding fans of Shaq’s generosity to his friends.
