“Smile Is a Thousand Words”: Before Magic Johnson Approved Trade, Lakers New Star Dropped Hints to NBA Fans on Joining LeBron James

To improve their position in the league, Los Angeles Lakers are taking big measures. Recently, the Los Angeles franchise added reinforcements around stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis. According to recent reports, the Lakers traded Washington Wizards forward, Rui Hachimura. Moreover, Lakers legend Magic Johnson was one of the first who approved of the trade.

To complete the deal, the Lakers will send Kendrick Nunn and three second-round draft picks to Washington. It was recently reported that Hachimura was questioned extensively about his trade during an interview on Saturday night before the trade was confirmed.

To the question “Did you ask for a trade?”, he answered, “No comment.” Although the trade discussion started earlier with the Lakers, there was one question that had everyone’s attention. The reason for considering drafting a player they drafted ninth overall in 2019. In light of the news conference that took place in a Capital One Arena hallway, the silence seems to explain a lot.

Hachimura currently averages 24.3 minutes per game, which may be considered good since he made some good numbers with the Wizards. On Saturday’s match, he produced 30 points in 30 minutes as Kyle Kuzma added 25 points to give the team a better chance of winning.

A win over Orlando Magic was recorded by the Wizards by 138-118. In response to the question about the trade, Hachimura didn’t delve into his trade with a “no comment”. Compared to the previous season, there are a few differences in the current state of the team. With a standing of 12th in the Western Conference, the team is doing everything it can to improve its performance.

According to Hachimura, he’s also looking for a place that matches the understanding and the trust he wants from a team, as he mentioned during an interview on Saturday night. “I just want to be somewhere that wants me as a basketball player, and I want to be somewhere that likes my game, you know?” said Hachimura.
