Florida vs Kansas thriller leaves Magic Johnson in denial

The third-seeded Kansas State gave all it could to make it to the Final Four. After giving the Lakers legend a heartbreak by beating his alma matter MSU Spartans in the Sweet Sixteen, Kansas State had shown its worth. However, the 9th seed Florida Atlantic University did not let them move past Elite Eight. In another edge-of-the-seat thriller, future NBA prospect Marquis Nowell’s 30-point showdown went in vain as it was not enough to edge past FAU’s team performance.

Magic Johnson, who witnessed the men’s Elite Eight thriller between Florida and Kansas State, tweeted, “When the 64 teams were announced, nobody could have picked Florida Atlantic to go to the Final Four. I think this has been the most unbelievable NCAA Tournament I’ve ever seen!”

The Lakers legend further mentioned in another tweet, “This NCAA Tournament has been the most exciting because there have been so many upsets and so many close games that came down to the wire in both the men’s and women’s tournaments.”

Though fans were expecting a different narrative, the teams at the bottom continue to break myths by demolishing the title hopes of the top-seeded teams. Similarly, in the Women’s tournament, the 9th seed Miami upset the top-seeded Indiana Hoosiers and fourth-seed Villanova Wildcats in the second round and Sweet Sixteen respectively to enter the Elite Eight. The Miami Hurricanes who are ready to face the 3rd seed LSU tigers might give the fans another upset.

NBA All-Star doesn’t share the same opinion as Magic

Coming from Kentucky, De’Aaron Fox is having one of the best seasons of his career. Having taken part in the tournament himself, Fox was a star in Kentucky during the 2016-17 season. However, the 25-year-old does not like how college games are being played today. In an interview, Fox mentioned that he “can’t stand” NCAA tournaments because the refs and the coaching are bad.

The guard also added that he could not watch a full game patiently due to the above reasons. Though the NCAA tournament has excited many this year, Fox’s views seem to be contrasting. Who do you agree with? De’Aaron Fox or Magic Johnson? Share in the comments below.
