The Brooklyn Nets have been in the limelight of controversy this season. Notably, the situation with Kyrie Irving has some effect on that. However, they still remain as one of the top teams in the NBA. Spearheaded by Kevin Durant and James Harden, their duo is slowly catching up. While Harden is still getting back in rhythm, KD hasn’t missed a beat. However, in the recent game against Detroit, the ‘Slim Reaper’ was ejected in the third quarter.

Unsurprisingly, Durant is always among of the heat of the plays. Verbal altercations aren’t new when it comes to him. Light shoves and heated moments are something KD himself embraces. He uses this to get into the opponent’s head and force them to make mistakes. Similarly, his ejection against the Pistons came up for similar reasons.

Fans react to Kevin Durant getting ejected

KD is not a new face to controversy. However, this time, the fans wanted some part of the action and decided to mock his ejection. While many related it to his tech in the last game, some took a plain funny approach towards the matter.

It seems Kevin Durant is a hub for getting technicals this season. Last game, he launched the ball into the stands and got a technical foul for his actions. This time, during a defensive play, KD was trying to contest a three pointer. However, Kelly Olynyk set a screen to prevent that. Because he couldn’t get to his man, Durant elbowed Olynyk and shoved him to the ground. Likewise, he was ejected for his actions.

However, despite going off in the third quarter, the Nets’ star made his impact. He led the Nets in scoring with 23 points shooting 76.9% from the field. This is his second efficient game in a row coming off a 70% shooting night in his last game. After the game, KD justified his actions, saying he was only trying to run through the screen and put his elbow up in the process.
