The Los Angeles Lakers have started the season terribly, with a 2-10 record. Yeah, not really a good record for the team or the Lakers fans. To add to it, it seems like they might just lose the chance to rope in the top prospect in the 2023 NBA Draft. Given that the purple and gold have had a plodding start this season, the New Orleans Pelicans have more chances of drafting Victor Wembanyama.?

Besides, the New Orleans Pelicans are probably thanking the Lakers as they now have a shot at forming a Zion Williamson-Victor Wembanyama partnership. Such a partnership could help out the Pelicans a lot. If it slipped anyone’s mind, the Lakers handed over their 2023 Draft rights to the Pelicans during the Anthony Davis trade. While the Lakers have the first-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, the tables could turn if the Pelicans decide to swap the first-round pick.?
Victor Wembanyama has been in the headlines for quite some time now. And why wouldn’t he be? The seven-foot-three-inch French prodigy is probably one of the best NBA prospects. Several NBA stars and scouts attended the G league Ignite vs Metropolitans 92 game in October 2022. If there were any doubts in the spectators’ minds regarding Wembanyama, his performance during the game probably cleared them out.
Fans are baffled by the Lakers’ poor performance
Since the opening night of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers have probably remained a constant disappointment to fans. There was a spark of hope when LeBron James‘ team won two consecutive games against the Denver Nuggets and the New Orleans Pelicans. However, the team was back to square one again as their losing streak continued.
