There have been numerous feuds between players in the NBA but there are not many that reached the magnitude of Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard. The two big men never failed to share their feelings for each other and safe to say, their feelings were not friendly.

It all starts with the popular superhero ‘Superman’. When Shaq was in the Orlando Magic, the arena displayed the Superman logo whenever he made a humongous dunk. Needless to say, O’Neal was quite proud of his tag.

Fast forward to the 2004-05 season when a young Dwight Howard was drafted by the Magic. He liked being associated with Superman and he went on to don a red jersey during a dunk contest.

A similar player sharing a similar nickname for the same team? Shaq certainly did not enjoy all of it. This led to a bad relationship between the two players. Recently, the two NBA stars were interviewed regarding some of their best car collections.

While Shaq showed off his car collection, Howard gave the audience a look at his sleek Marvel-themed Rolls Royce. The car is purple in color as it is based upon the popular supervillain, Thanos.

Howard said, “He [Thanos] was able to understand, in order for him to complete his mission, he had to get rid of his emotions. That’s the hardest thing that we all face.“Needless to say, we can all make out that Dwight Howard is a huge superhero fan.

Have Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard played against each other?

Shaq and Dwight share a pretty intense rivalry both on and off the court. They have faced off on 12 occasions and with both having 6 wins to their name.

However, one of the most memorable encounters between Shaq and Dwight came in a dance-off! The two faced off in a dance battle that also featured a young LeBron James.
