New York has been a basketball spectacle for years. Even regular-season games feel like the biggest games of the season. However, when the New York Knicks are in the playoffs, the mecca of basketball rises to a whole new level. It isn’t just the fans, but the biggest of celebrities turn up to watch the battles. It was no different during Game 1 of the Knicks vs Miami Heat series. NBA’s newly announced ambassador and BTS member, Suga, was also present at the venue. And on his first day at the job, he ran into one of the city’s biggest basketball legends.

The Knicks fell to the Heat at home as Jimmy Butler’s sensational double-double helped Miami go up 1-0 in the series. Madison Square Garden was full of stars on Sunday.

MSG is arguably one of the most exciting places to be during the postseason. The roars from the crowd were loud. Although The Knicks were under-manned as All-Star forward Julius Randle missed out due to an injury, there was no shortage of electricity as the list of celebrities made up for the lost enthusiasm.

The Knicks’ support cast was powerful. To no one’s surprise, Spike Lee headlined the star-studded crowd at MSG. Singer Jack Harlow, Joe Jonas, Martha Stewart, Ben Stiller, and comedic legend Chris Rock were all at the Garden. Even some of the Knicks legends showed up to once again feel the thrill and goosebumps of playoff basketball. This is where Suga, the NBA’s newest ambassador, met up with Patrick Ewing, one of the all-time greats of the game.

The crowd was alive and it was all for the Knicks. However, they might have forgotten just who they were going up against. Recreating the iconic Heat-Knicks rivalry, Jimmy Butler spoiled the fun at MSG as his charismatic performance gave Miami the edge. The entire crowd might have been against him, but there was one face who was cheering for Butler and Miami; three-time NBA champion, Dwyane Wade.

Not having Randle turned out to be a huge loss for the Knicks who lost to the Miami Heat in Game 1. Going up against ‘Playoff Jimmy Butler’ was bound to be tough. It wasn’t an explosion from Butler as he did in the series against the Milwaukee Bucks. However, his efficiency and calculated moves had the Knicks lost.

He wiped off the initial deficit Miami faced and spearheaded their charge in the second half. He finished the game with 25 points and 11 rebounds. However, he turned his ankle late in the game and looked in pain. Nonetheless, the warrior continued to play and finished the game despite looking visibly shaken up.
