Green said, “Before everybody jumps and says Steph shouldn’t have done this, that’s on me. After you outlet the ball, someone has to trail the play. You have to trail the play because if all else fails and the guy gets trapped in that situation, he needs to be able to look back and just throw a simple outlet behind the place.”

“So, that’s on me, I’m always the trailer in those situations. And I diddley-doo on up the floor as if the game was over. Running with my back turned and we just can’t leave him in that situation,” added Green.

Green displays his team spirit

Draymond Green taking accountability for Stephen Curry’s mistake just goes to show his leadership and team spirit for the Warriors squad. He even took the blame for not informing his teammates that they have no timeouts left.

With about 42 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter, the Warriors had a rather comfortable five-point lead. However, the Kings’ defense managed to trap Curry in the backcourt with none of his teammates around to pass the ball to.

Curry was forced to call a timeout, without realizing that they did not have any left. Which ultimately led to a technical foul, a free throw, and De’Aaron Fox hitting a crucial three-pointer, shrinking their lead to a single point.
