NBA analysts alongside fans consider LeBron James as of the greatest players of all time. The Los Angeles Lakers star has spent 19 incredibly successful seasons in the NBA. LeBron has won NBA championships with all the three franchises that he has played for. Additionally, the NBA has named him the NBA Finals MVP a total of four times the latest of those in 2020 with the Lakers.

NBA analyst Stephen Smith recently revealed his thoughts on LeBron James’ championship hopes. Smith is a commentator on ESPN’s First Take, which he hosts alongside Molly Qerim. LeBron has won four NBA championships in his lengthy career. Smith was of the opinion that LeBron wouldn’t win any more championships henceforth.

Smith said, “Now obviously things could change because you could go out there, you are Pelinka, you can acquire somebody different. I’m saying as presently constructed, with Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook completely healthy, LeBron completely healthy still ain’t beat the Warriors. And I believe this is the last championship LeBron James can win. Meaning it is over, ain’t no more championships coming. That’s what I believe.

Smith also praised the Golden State Warriors team and implied that the Lakers could not match up to the Warriors. The Lakers have started their new 2020-21 NBA season in dismal form. An opening night loss to the Golden State Warriors further amplified concerns. LeBron James has also missed games due to injury.

LeBron joined the Lakers in 2018 as a free agent. He left the Cleveland Cavaliers after his second spell in Cleveland produced an NBA championship in 2016. The NBA selected LeBron as the Finals MVP for his performances for the Lakers in the 2020 NBA Finals.

The Los Angeles Lakers faced defeat against the Chicago Bulls at Staples Center. The Lakers sorely missed talisman LeBron James as he recovered from an abdominal strain. In a controversial incident, the referee ejected Anthony Davis out of the game in the third quarter.

Talen Horton-Tucker led the Lakers scoring 28 points while Russell Westbrook added 25 points. DeMar DeRozan scored 38 points his season high for the Bulls. Lonzo Ball haunted his former team scoring 27 points as Zach LaVine scored 26 points. The Bulls won secured their fourth victory in five games with a final score of 121-103. The Lakers face reigning NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks next at an away game.
