Defending champions Golden State Warriors haven’t had the best of starts to the 2022-23 NBA season. Although Stephen Curry is putting up MVP-level numbers, the team overall has struggled.

Improving the depth is definitely an option for the Warriors. However, adding another superstar to the team will certainly be better. According to a proposed trade, the Warriors have what it takes to acquire a Chicago Bulls superstar.

It is none other than DeMar DeRozan who once rejected the Warriors. Sacrificing their younger core will allow the Warriors to add DeRozan while also having Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson in their team.

The Warriors can add another superstar alongside Stephen Curry 

The Golden State Warriors have been one of the best teams in the past decade. They won four NBA titles in a row and are widely considered one of the greatest teams ever.

The Warriors already have a team full of superstars like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and others. DeMar DeRozan will be an interesting signing if the Warriors decide to pull it off.

He had a brilliant 2021-22 NBA season but was eliminated fairly early in the playoffs. According to a report, the Warriors can land him if they offer James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga, Donte DiVincenzo, Patrick Baldwin Jr, and the 2026 1st-Round Pick (Lottery Protected) to the Chicago Bulls.

Interestingly enough, prior to joining the Bulls in 2021, DeRozan was approached by the Warriors. He said, “F**k no” as revealed by Green who made the proposition to DeRozan.

His age is a big deciding factor. He is 33 years old but still performing very well on a regular basis. The five-time NBA All-Star currently averages 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 26 games. In case the Warriors continue to struggle, getting DeMar DeRozan may very well be an option.

Curry performing brilliantly in spite of team struggle

The 2021-22 NBA champions are currently 8th in the Western Conference. With a 14-13 record, they haven’t had the best of starts. Stephen Curry has contributed a lot to the team’s success. He averages 30.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in 24 games.
