Klay Thompson will make his 2021-2022 debut on Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Golden State Warriors confirmed the news by announcing his return to action. Having sustained an ACL injury during the 2019 NBA finals, Thompson has missed a lot of games. Initially, his return to the Warriors was announced, but due to another Achilles tendon injury incurred during the offseason, he was forced to delay his return and had to undergo surgery, which was announced by the Warriors on November 25th, 2020.

In response to the news about Thompson’s comeback, several players expressed their excitement, including Stephen Curry, who welcomed Thompson via Twitter. It goes without saying that Klay is one of the most beloved players in the league.

Considering Thompson’s history with the Warriors, his return is highly anticipated, as it could mean a game-changer for the team.

Thompson hasn’t played a single game this season. The team, however, is performing well and has been delivering consistent performances in the Western Conference. Moreover, Klay’s return will give the team a strong backbone, and might probably change the game for the better.
