Basketball fans have always loved the Curry family due to their bond and dedication to the game. However, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry’s parents Dell Curry and Sonya Curry decided to separate after being together for more than 30 years.

This was a big shock to everyone, especially Stephen, who shared his views on his parents’ divorce. Sonya, Stephen’s mother, filed for divorce eight months before the news broke. Dell and Sonya were an endearing couple and were adored by NBA fans.

As for Stephen, he finds it hard to accept that his parents have decided to divorce after 33 years of marriage. Stephen talked about this and said that despite it being difficult to accept, he would be supporting his parents. He explained:

“I had to make sure I was in that moment with both of them separately and this wasn’t just this whole kind of thing,” Curry said. “That is how I choose to approach that. Because it is challenging.”

Although Dell and Sonya’s children are adults and are parents themselves, it was an emotional moment for them as well. Watching their parents split up is never easy, regardless of age. Stephen discussed this in an interview with ‘The Ringer.’

We have always seen his parents holding hands and supporting their children. As sometimes they had also been seen cheering for Stephen at the Courtside. Hearing of their separation is painful for all of them.

Curry mentioned this in the conversation that followed:

“It’s challenging for sure,he says. “I could be mad and be like, ‘Y’all effed this up,’” he added. “I could have that approach. But it’s going to be an acknowledgment of both of y’all in terms of how y’all raised me. The calmness I have in myself is because of y’all.”

In regards to their love life, they got married in 1988 after being college sweethearts. The couple raised three children together. Sonya filed for divorce last summer, and the divorce was approved a few months later.

It is great to see Stephen’s mature reaction and the way he is supporting his parents is extremely endearing to see.
