Stephen Curry has been in the league for 13 years and has avoided major injuries every step of the way. The 2019/20 season was the only season where he missed considerable amounts of game-time due to a hand injury. Injuries are seen as an inevitable consequence of participating in sports. However, Stephen Curry once dodged a major injury off the court as well.

In fact, Curry was fortunate enough to walk out uninjured from a multicar accident. The car crash took place on Black Friday in November of 2018. The dashcam footage from another car showed an out-of-control Lexus swerving through traffic and cutting in front of Curry’s black Porsche.

Both vehicles collided, causing Curry’s Porsche to hit the divider. While he was waiting for officers, another car rear-ended his vehicle. Curry was unharmed in the three-car collision. Authorities stated that no one was hurt or detained because of the crash, which was caused by heavy downpours.

Despite the accident, Stephen Curry was generous enough to pose for a photo with the three California Highway Patrol officers in the pouring rain. Fair to say, that’s a photo neither the officers nor Curry will ever forget.

“He was a little shaken up like anybody would be getting into a car accident, but thankfully nobody was hurt and Steph’s doing fine,” Kerr stated. He then went on and joked about Curry having multiple other cars to drive, now that his Porsche had been wrecked. Curry arrived at the Warriors’ shoot-around shortly after, even though his vehicle was heavily damaged.

It’s been more than three years since the accident and Curry still remains the human sniper he was in 2018. The Warriors got back to winning ways as they clinched the NBA title this season with Curry taking home the Finals MVP.
