Lusia Harris was the first woman to be officially drafted into the NBA and she is considered to be a pioneer for the sport. She also has the honor of making the first basket at the Olympics. In light of all this, Harris has been dubbed the “Queen of Basketball”.

Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal recently helped produce a documentary on Lusia, which showcased her struggles and her journey. He wanted her to become a household name and get the credit that she was due. The doc has received critical acclaim and is poised to win at the Oscars as well. Now Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is joining Shaq to promote the doc.

The documentary was well-received all over and Harris was finally getting the props she deserves. Unfortunately, Harris passed away on January 18th, 2022. Sadly, she never got to see the movie being nominated for the Oscars.
