The journey of Stephen Curry, playing for the Davidson Wildcats, has been perfectly captured in a recently released documentary directed by Emmy winner Peter Nicks. Although he was constantly undermined in college, Steph defied all odds and turned out to be one of the best basketball players ever.

Davidson College does not really have the reputation of producing the best basketball talents in the world. However, they can proudly claim Steph Curry to be one of their own. The son of Dell Curry chose Davidson over his other options. Safe to say, he made the right choice in life.

All the details about Steph’s time in Davidson are covered in his documentary. It is titled “Stephen Curry: Underrated” and is described as “an authentic love letter to Davidson basketball.” The authorized documentary was screened on the campus very recently, which was a very proud moment for the four-time NBA champion.

“I think every student here, and every faculty member and staff member, should feel some ownership of this film because Stephen Curry has made that happen”, said Bob McKillop, Curry’s former coach at Davidson. “Everyone knows where Stephen Curry went to school”, continued the Davidson legend, “because Stephen Curry wanted it known.”

Not very long ago, Curry showed his humanitarian side. Along with his wife, Ayesha, Steph launched a massive scholarship for the women athletes of Davidson, to bridge the gap between male and female athletes. Eight scholarships worth $10,000 each will be handed out. The college will receive its first batch of students under the scholarship scheme this fall.

The Warriors superstar was not very dominant during his time at Davidson. However, he mastered his shooting in college, which eventually helped him in his NBA career.

Steph won two Southern Player of the Year awards during his three seasons with the Wildcats. Moreover, he averaged 25.3 points, 3.7 assists, and 4.5 rebounds in 104 games. Thanks to his brilliance on the court, Curry entered the NBA in 2009 as the 7th overall pick.
