Arenas didn’t hesitate to propose a conspiracy involving the video’s leak when asked about his thoughts on the Green-Poole incident. The 3x All-Star argued that the Warriors might have engineered the video leak in an attempt to lower the salary requirements of the 4x NBA champion.

Arenas strongly hinted at a potential leak from the Warriors themselves. He backed his allegations by talking about the team’s control of all media activity at the practice facility. He also pointed out that the Warriors could fire or sue the parties implicated in leaking the video and breaching trust. Arenas concluded his argument with a striking question.

Arenas said, “If this gets out, you are fired immediately, and we are suing because we are on private property that’s on the footage, and we own the footage. So if it gets to TMZ you gotta remember, Who’s contract is up this summer!”

In the segment, the former Warriors guard further argued that the video leak could have been an alleged attempt of the Warriors to lower Green’s salary by taking away his bargaining power in the upcoming contract negotiations. The video leak surely tarnished the 32-year-old’s reputation in the eyes of the media and the public. Arenas further pointed out that Draymond Green’s actions weren’t anything out of the ordinary and these things are actually pretty common in the league.

Green currently serves the penultimate year of his 4-year $100 million contract. After next season, the 4x NBA champion and former DPOY will become an unrestricted free agent.
