Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is an avid golfer. He has been golfing for a long time and he has participated in several amateur tournaments. But when he took a spot in Web.com Tour event, he attracted a lot of criticism. Many said that he was taking up a spot of a pro. But the GOAT Jack Nicklaus didn’t agree with that notion and he also wished him all the best.

Curry attracted a lot of attention, as he was a superstar on the basketball court. And this may have earned him a spot as well at the event. Many were fuming that he cost a professional golfer a spot, but many were also happy with the attention he drew at the event.

Jack Nicklaus wished Stephen Curry to do well at the event

Its safe to say Jack was not one of those people who were offended by Curry playing in the event. Jack and his wife have been fans of Curry for a long time and they wished him well. He tweeted,Best of luck to  @StephenCurry30 this week in the @elliemaeclassic. Thanks for enjoying our game as much as Barbara and I enjoy yours!”.

Curry missed the cut in the first round itself as he missed the cut by 13 strokes. He was way better in his last appearance as he shot a 71-71. But this year he finished last among all participants, but he would have certainly enjoyed his time out there. It would have been a pleasant experience for the sharpshooter after winning his second championship.

Curry spoke about his time at the event. He said, “I couldn’t hit a driver to save my life today, so that’s how golf goes, One day you have it, or at least in the amateur world, one day you have it and one day you completely lose it and you have no idea what you’re doing over the top of the ball”.

Curry has since won another title and he has also made a couple more NBA Finals. Obviously, he will have a chance to add to his impressive resume and move up the ladder in the all-time best players list.
