Stephen Curry is the basketball world’s man of the moment right now. He just led the Golden State Warriors to their fourth title in eight years. In the process, Curry also won his first NBA Finals MVP trophy. This was Curry’s first Finals MVP trophy in his sixth visit to the NBA Finals. It felt like a crowning achievement in Curry’s career, as this was the only trophy remaining from his cabinet.

Getting this title with the Golden State Warriors has arguably certified Curry’s legacy for years to come. Now he can likely claim a seat among the greatest players ever to play the game of basketball. However, off the court, especially in his personal life, everything is seemingly not going great. His dad Wardell Curry and mom Sonya Curry recently went through a divorce.

Towards the end of their marriage, Dell accused Sonya of cheating on him with Steven Johnson, a former NFL player. Dell apparently felt that Sonya was up to something and was forced to take a bold step. He reportedly hired someone to look into it because she was denying it. According to reports, it looked like Steven Johnson was a “friend” of the family before this episode.

With a chance to a three-peat, they lost the 2019 NBA Finals to the Toronto Raptors because of injuries to Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. Kevin left for the Brooklyn Nets in the summer of 2019. And this started a retooling period of two years for the Warriors.

Due to various injuries, for two years, the Warriors couldn’t play their best five-man team on the court. Klay Thompson basically missed two full seasons, even Stephen Curry missed games because of a fractured hand in 19-20. But this year, with the veterans finally healthy, the Warriors struck gold once more. They qualified for the NBA Finals and defeated the Boston Celtics in six games.
