Sonya Curry and her husband, Dell Curry, are household names in the NBA. They are parents to Sydell, Seth, and Stephen Curry. Sydell Lee Curry is married to Phoenix Suns point guard Damion Lee. Lee used to be Stephen’s teammate during their championship 2021-22 run. The Curry family has become more prominent in the NBA since Seth married Callie Rivers in 2019. The Rivers are another NBA clan that has been around like the Currys. Doc Rivers and his son Austin are still a big part of the NBA,

Sonya and Dell have together raised great kids. The Curry brothers are the most valued sharpshooters in the NBA. In a recent video, the two parents recalled the journey that their children have taken to reach the NBA. The Golden State Warriors drafted Steph in 2008.

Seth Curry joined the league later in 2013 after going undrafted. Stephen Curry has won 4-NBA championships and 2 league MVPs. He was recently awarded the first Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP award.

Seth Curry has had a different route to the NBA. According to their mother, Sonya, he has always been similar to his father. The father-son duo is almost identical in the way they look and play. Seth is one of the league’s best 3-point and spot shooters in terms of percentages.

He plays for the Brooklyn Nets and has played for teams like Portland and Philadelphia before.

There is footage of a young Stephen Curry and Seth Curry playing one-on-one basketball. The two were constantly competing, and Seth Curry, the young one, always looked up to Warriors player Stephen Curry. However, there was a moment when she embarrassed both Seth and Dell Curry on live television.

When asked by a FoxSports analyst in what ways Seth and Dell are similar. She tried to recall how Dell was when he was young and compared him to Seth. According to Sonya, Dell and Seth put in as much effort as they needed and never more! She has written a memoir about her family titled ‘Fierce Love’.

Sonya said, “I call them my C-average students in school. They give just what they need to get and then they don’t understand the extra effort to get an A if you can.”

In the same interview, she talked about how her two sons take after each other and share the best part of the journey for her as the mother.

She said, “Just watching how their journeys are so different, but how it’s all leading to the same destination for them. Just also been able to watch them enjoy each other along the way, and how Stephen encourages him and Seth to study Stephen’s game.”

According to Dell, Seth and Steph took to the game and never had to be forced to play. Dell Curry has played for teams like the Hornets and Toronto Raptors, spending over 16 seasons in the NBA. It is apparent where the love for the game comes from Steph and Seth.

Dell said, “I know how hard it is to get to the NBA and stay in the NBA. They always had been around the game, and they dedicated themselves to what they wanted to do.”

Seth Curry and Steph Curry were always dedicated to the gym and never had to be dragged by their father.
