Sonya Curry, mother of Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, has been in the news lately. This was especially true after news of her divorce from her husband, former NBA player Dell Curry, broke out.
In the end, the couple decided to part ways after 33 years of marriage. Together, they have three children; Stephen, Seth, and Sydel Curry, all of whom are successful in their own way.

As news broke regarding their breakup, Sonya shared many statements regarding her marriage and her reasons for doing so. Although there were rumors of cheating, Sonya is focusing on herself at the moment and her new endeavors.
Recently she gave an interview in which she discussed her journey to be a better person and how she is building her life. During the conversation, she also discussed her new memoir ‘Fierce Love‘, her spirituality, and her identity crisis.

Curry’s mother Sonya revealed early struggles in their relationship that led her to turn to religion a few months ago. In an interview with Jemele Hill is Unbothered, she related the following story: “One day at church I was just sitting there–the pastor just seemed like he’s talking to you,” she explained.

“There could be 10,000 people in the room and he’s like you. And he talked about if you’re tired of doing the same ole same ole, just give Jesus a try.” According to her, “And I just got up, went to the front and it was just like I can’t do this. I don’t want this anymore so Lord I’ma try you. You’ve said all that you are, let’s see. I’ma go for it.”
