Stephen Curry’s Sister Sydel Once Revealed Attempting to ‘Separate Herself’ from Her Family for One Reason: “I’m Very Independent…”

Stephen Curry’s family has been deeply involved with sports, especially the NBA for generations. Steph’s father, Dell Curry was a prolific scorer, while his brother Seth Curry plays in the NBA for the Brooklyn Nets. The Curry family is quite a close-knit family of athletes. However, his sister Sydel Curry has chosen a separate lifestyle away from her family. Steph’s sister revealed that she tried to separate herself from her family in search of her own path.

Sydel Curry is married to Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors teammate Damion Lee. She is a successful vintner, mental health advocate, and lifestyle content creator. Sydel also has over 100K subscribers on YouTube and over 714k followers on Instagram.

Steph Curry‘s sister teamed up with in 2021 to launch her own fashion lifestyle brand, “A Curry Girl.” The 27-year-old addressed her life and her relationship with her family in a feature video from ‘Togetherxr.’

During the video, Sydel shared that she had been deeply inspired by her mother Sonya Curry. She followed in her mother’s footsteps and played as a D1 college volleyball player.

However, her love for a more independent path took her away from her mother’s journey. Sydel said, “I have a great family, but I worked very hard to separate myself as much as I possibly can, to create my own platform for own self because I’m very independent.”

Sydel’s journey as an independent individual has helped her evolve a great deal. She loves her family and has a great relationship with her brother, Stephen and Seth Curry.

However, she wants to create a separate identity for herself. In other words, she doesn’t want to be labelled as just Stephen Curry’s sister or Damion Lee’s spose.

Moreover, Sydel stated that she learned to be herself, inspire others, and give back to society. Curry wanted the world to know that she is more than a member of a famous sports family.
