Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors just cemented their legacy as a bona fide dynasty after winning their fourth championship in the last decade. Warriors star Draymond Green played a massive role on the defensive end of the court in their latest campaign. However, the four-time world champion could leave Stephen Curry and company in the upcoming season, according to recent reports.

Draymond Green has established himself as one of the best defenders to ever play in the league. In fact, his defensive presence on the court played a crucial role in the Dubs’ success in recent years. But recent reports have suggested that the four-time All-Star could be looking for other options if the Warriors’ front office fails to meet his demands.

Green has served as a loyal soldier for many years in the San Francisco franchise. However, he is not averse to moving elsewhere if he finds a better deal.

As it turns out, Green wants a four-year max extension to stay in San Francisco. However, the Warriors are reluctant to offer him such a deal despite being an integral part of the Dubs dynasty. “All indications, though, are that the Warriors have no plans to offer Green a maximum extension, and there isn’t any current traction on any type of extension,” the Athletic reported.

Green is the backbone of the Warriors’ defense. Moreover, he also plays the role of a veteran leader in the team. But his numbers have seen a steady decline in the past few seasons.

Last year, the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year averaged a meager 7.5 points, 7 assists, and 7.3 rebounds. The Golden State Warriors are not prepared to offer a max deal to a 32-year-old Green based on those numbers.
