It might be safe to say that LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers are not really in their best shape this season, with a 3-10 record so far. Amidst all this, there are now rumors about a possible Washington Wizards trade. In the latest episode of ‘The Crossover NBA Show with Chris Mannix and Howard Beck’, the latter shared that a Western Conference executive apparently revealed to him about a potential Bradley Beal trade with the Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers undoubtedly need a good roster. Compared to other NBA teams, the Lakers have one of the worse records as of now. Therefore, a Bradley Beal trade could well strengthen the team. Beal has a no-trade clause in his contract, which meant that the trade could not take place unless Beal requested it. However, according to Beck, the Western Conference executive apparently stated that Beal was interested in playing for the purple and gold franchise.

“He says, ‘Washington is the one that I keep thinking that?s going to happen. If you?re the Lakers, don?t you think you can get Bradley Beal? He?s got a no-trade clause. He wants to come to California,'” relayed Beck.

Other than Beck, Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes too reported that the Lakers are interested in a trade with the Washington Wizards. The three-time NBA All-Star has remained with the Wizards since he was first drafted into the league in 2012. Moreover, he recently signed a contract extension worth $251 million with the Wizards.

Fans are skeptical about the possible addition to LeBron James’ Lakers

If the Bradley Beal trade successfully takes place with the Washington Wizards, it could prove to be a very good addition to the team. The Lakers are running the second-worst record of the season in the Western Conference at 3-10. If this continued on, then the franchise will most probably end up becoming a lottery team for the 2023 NBA Draft. Not really a good year for them to perform poorly as the 2023 Draft has one of the top NBA prospects, Victor Wembanyama.

Nevertheless, as reports of the rumored trade began floating around, the Twitterati have expressed their skepticism. While some are really excited about the trade, others are discussing its possibility.

Here are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:

LeBron James‘ Lakers faced the Brooklyn Nets on November 13, 2022. Fortunately for Lakers fans, the team managed to grab just their third win of the season against the Nets. While this does not make a huge change to their poor record, fans will be hoping the team can finally go on a winning streak to try and salvage the season from here.
