After suffering back-to-back losses, the Los Angeles Lakers went back to winning ways. Checking into the garden, the Lakers won a thriller against the New York Knicks. Unsurprisingly, LeBron James led the way once again. At 38, the 19-time All-Star slashed away to a triple-double. In addition, James inched closer to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s long-time record. After the game, the Year 20 forward showed off a scary sense of confidence that made even Anthony Davis smile.

As an athlete, it is rare to see someone play beyond 36. When it comes to basketball, the heavy toll on the body often doesn’t allow for long careers. However, King James is simply defying logic. Not only is he playing at 38, but is dominating. The four-time MVP is one of the league’s leading scorers. With averages of 30.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 7.1 assists, James is having one of his best individual seasons.

Likewise, he made on a show at the Mecca of basketball. Now, LeBron James is just 89 points away from the all-time scoring record. For the first time, he openly poured out his feelings. In addition, it seems the King’s reign still has a few more years.

LeBron James has no doubts and all the time

The Lakers and Knicks went back and forth in their overtime contest. After struggling early, James found a groove towards the end. He finished the night with a 28-point triple-double to put New York away. Speaking to the media post-game, the question of getting closer to arguably the most celebrated record lingered. And probably for the first time, the 38-year-old directed his focus on the historic milestone. Notably, he has no doubt the record will belong to him. There was also good news for a smiling Anthony Davis.

In a clip shared by Michael Scotto, LeBron said, “I’m going to do it. It’s just a matter of time when I’m going to do it. I’m not going anywhere.” He continued, “I’m going to be in this league for at least a few more years.” Fans went wild, reacting to his admission.

At his current pace, King James will probably break the record in three games. However, the interview’s main focus was arguably his admission to playing for a few more years. Several possibilities now open up for him. In addition, he might cross the 40k mark in all-time points.

History could see a massive dent in James’ alien longevity. With a few more seasons left, Anthony Davis was visibly ecstatic. However, given the Lakers’ current scenario, there is a high chance the four-time Finals MVP leaves. His primary focus lies on winning times. Unless the Purple and Gold make any strides this season, it could be the last of James in the uniform.
