Shaquille O’Neal traveled to Abu Dhabi recently. He flew down there to buy a house and spend time at the Yas Marina Circuit. Shaq had a great time in one of his favorite cities. However, he had issues with the plane journey. He then spoke about these issues on the Big Podcast with his co-hosts Spice Adams and Nischelle Turner.

Shaquille O’Neal has a net worth of 400 million dollars which allows him to fly in a private jet whenever he wishes to. However, Shaq decided to fly on a commercial airline to Abu Dhabi. Despite traveling in First Class, he was met with an issue that he couldn’t help but complain about.

Shaquille O’Neal rants about a $100+ billion industry

In the initial part of the podcast, Shaquille O’Neal announced that he wants to complain about the 100+ billion dollar airline industry. Spice Adams thought that Shaq was talking about one airline in particular. However, he cleared this up and stated that he has a complaint about all airlines in general. Following this, he posed a question to Turner and Adams. He asked, “Planes are straight right?”

After receiving ‘yes’ as the reply, O’Neal questioned why the seats in the plane are made crooked. While listening to this, Turner exasperated, “Oh boy!” 

The four-time champion continued to explain his issue. He expressed that while traveling in first class, he was sitting in a diagonal position thanks to the crooked seats. While doing so, his mind kept telling him to sit straight because the plane is straight. Shaq sat in an awkward position which led to his back being on fire because of the strain.

He called for the airlines to have their first-class sections redesigned. The Big Diesel simply wanted the seats to be straight. He said, “Stop trying to be sexy, make them straight.” This rant sent Turner and Adams into a fit of laughter.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the only issue the Lakers legend faced. He claimed that on the plane, a lady was accompanied by her three children. Despite not wanting to talk about kids, Shaq couldn’t refrain from complaining. Further, he added that every time he’d try to sleep, the kids would start crying. Adams had to remind him he was flying commercial.
