After the Clippers win over the Indiana Pacers, Paul George spoke to the press. He revealed his first time playing against Lakers’ legend Kobe Bryant, with an incredible story. It was his second season with the Indiana Pacers, and he was given the assignment of guarding Kobe. Kobe had an altercation with George’s teammate and took his frustration out on George. He said:

“The very first time was actually here in LA. I think it was my second year, I didn’t get to play in my first year… I got the opportunity, I was matched up with him, it was my assignment to guard Kobe. It is the story I always tell – one of the greatest and funniest moments…Them two was going at it, Kobe and Shaw and here I am in the middle when all of this was going on.”

George added, “I was guarding him and he got his back down, patent pump-fake and I went flying forward… and he caught me in the air, gave me a little elbow, went past me and laid it up. He ran down to where B. Shaw was and yelled at B. Shaw ‘check the young fella for feathers.’ That was the first moment of being on the court, guarding Kobe.”
