A career in the NBA brings luxuries and a lavish lifestyle. As salaries keep mounting with time, the stars of the game are seen often basking in their riches. However, what happens in life after basketball? Some stars use their accumulated wealth to begin businesses like tycoons such as Shaquille O’Neal and Magic Johnson. Unfortunately, in the case of most former NBA stars, they suffer from a sudden shift in lifestyle.

Recently, a former Los Angeles Lakers star fell victim to just that. Shocking reports claim Trevor Ariza has been hit hard financially ever since retiring from the NBA last season. Struggling to maintain his once luxurious lifestyle, the 37-year-old is pleading for reduced child support payments.

Last year began the most dreadful phase of Ariza’s life. His ex-wife Bree Anderson filed for divorce after four years of marriage. Her claims were pretty ugly, alleging that the former NBA star was violent during their relationship. She even got a restraining order against Ariza fearing for the safety of her life. As the battle continues, Bree has made demands of wanting her lavish lifestyle back from when Ariza played in the NBA.

Through his 18-year career, the Lakers forward made over $115,000,000 in salaries alone. After his millions, he earns $192k a month today according to the financial reports Trevor Ariza submitted in court. RadarOnline also revealed the estimates submitted by Ariza. His grand total comes to a whopping $109k including $13,000 in child support.

While Ariza requests a reduced payment, Bree Anderson is demanding enough to sustain her like her former life. The extravagance she expects to maintain includes “private chefs, a household staff, Rolls Royce vehicles, real estate and business holdings, and a massive 5-bedroom 7-bathroom residence in Playa Vista.”
