The Philadelphia 76ers just keep waiting and waiting, but Ben Simmons doesn’t show up. The preseason has come to its inevitable end, but Simmons was nowhere to be seen. Ever since his saga began, there have been many controversies about where he’s going to land up, what the 76ers will end up doing if he chooses not to show up.

However, until something is official, everything is speculation, and, like the James Harden fiasco last season, anything could happen at any time. In fact, Charles Barkley came up with an incredibly unique analogy to explain this situation.

Charles Barkley makes a hilarious comment about the Ben Simmons situation

In an interview with NBC Sports, Barkley sat down to discuss the Simmons ordeal with the Philadelphia 76ers. And while doing so, he made a clever and hilarious comparison. “It’s kind of watching like you watched all those stupid housewives show. You don’t know what’s gonna happen one episode to the next. I don’t think anybody has any idea what’s gonna happen with this Ben Simmons situation,” he stated.

“Now the Sixers do have a huge advantage. They’re around this guy every day. You’ve been around this guy for five or six years, you should know what type of person he is. So they know him better than anybody. But they’re gonna have to make a decision. Like we’re gonna ride this thing out or let’s do let’s just make the best trade possible and move on. But the problem with that is we won’t know how this thing gonna work until next June.”

The last update has been that the fans were hoping to see Ben appear for their last preseason game against the Detroit Pistons. Not only did Philly lose but just a few hours before tip-off, it was revealed that Simmons won’t be playing. After all, he wasn’t with the team at all.

There was somewhat a raw of hope when Ben returned to the city. He has reportedly sat down with some people from the organization, attended a few practice sessions. Apart from that, there is no news about a possible trade in the making, or whether he is going to show up for their first regular-season game against the New Orleans Pelicans or not.

It seems like Charles Barkley couldn’t be more right. This is like just another sitcom that surprises us with unexpected outcomes. We just have to stick around and let it happen.
