Kevin Durant has had success since the very start of his NBA career. Considered one of the greatest scorers of all time, Durant was criticized heavily for leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to join an already-stacked Golden State Warriors team. However, his latest take on the current OKC roster has him in deep waters as fans slammed him while giving him a brutal reality check on the internet.

Kevin Durant has been part of some great rosters over the years. That was the case during his stint in Oklahoma as well. KD had a top-10 point guard in Russell Westbrook, one of the best-shot blockers and paint defenders in Serge Ibaka, and another great scorer in James Harden. However, they were all very young and that could have been a reason for things not working out.

The Slim Reaper’ decided to part ways with the Thunder to join forces with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in Golden State. This move by Durant caused a lot of controversy as the Warriors were coming off the greatest regular season in history and were just one game away from repeating as NBA champions.

Though Durant did win two NBA championships and two Finals MVPs with the Golden State Warriors, almost everyone called him out over the fact that he had to join a team that defeated him in the playoffs, just to win an NBA title.

Now, the 12-time All-Star’s recent take on the current Oklahoma City Thunder roster has fans trolling his take on social media. Durant said, “They got three or four guys 6-7, 6-8 that can handle the ball. I wish I would’ve had that.”

OKC may not have had players who were that tall and could handle the ball well at that time. However, he had plenty of talent around him to make a big splash in the playoffs back then. Fans called him out for this take.

Kevin Durant gets a reality check from fans

Given that the Oklahoma City Thunder’s front office was not willing to invest in James Harden, the team still had enough firepower. Having no Harden on the roster gave Russell Westbrook and Durant enough opportunities to take more shots and fully develop their potential.

So, it was natural for fans to rip Durant’s take on social media. One fan tweeted, “Bro wishes he had Josh Giddey over Westbrook & Harden.”

While another fan commented, “Bro had a top 10 PG, the best shot blocker(at the time), GREAT foundational role pieces, oh and the 6th MAN OF THE YEAR, but yeah. Wish you had that right?”

Here are a few more reactions from fans on Twitter.
