Continuing their stunning run since February, the Los Angeles Lakers took down the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1. As expected, it was a war up until the end. It was neck and neck until Lakers guard Austin Reaves went off to seal the game. However, before the euphoric feeling, an Anthony Davis injury scare had the Purple and Gold hold their breaths. The Laker Nation crumbled and lashed out at ‘The Brow’ for once again getting in trouble with his health.

The Lakers won the game 128-112 as they took a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference first-round series. It was an excellent team effort as four Lakers scored 20+ points in the big win. Despite the injury scare, AD dominated the paint and didn’t let anyone get an easy basket around the rim.

From the get-go, AD was dominant. The eight-time All-Star looked near unstoppable as he swatted shots and established himself on the inside. The Grizzlies had to endure what looked like the best Anthony Davis. His former teammate Kyle Kuzma saw what was coming.

But the 30-year-old’s hustle play nearly led to the Lakers’ worst nightmare. Fighting for a rebound with Jaren Jackson Jr., Davis got his arm locked up.

He immediately held his arm after the play. “I can’t move my arm,” uttered the four-time All-NBA forward. He rushed to the locker room as Memphis took off. According to Adrian W0jnarowski, he had suffered a stinger in his right shoulder. At halftime, there was only one question on everyone’s mind: Will Davis return anytime soon?

Luckily for the 17-time champions, AD was back in the third quarter. Despite his shoulder injury, he didn’t seem fazed hitting two quick buckets in the third. Not just that, but Davis didn’t need to strain his shoulders to score thanks to mainly two teammates, Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves.

Hachimura would go unconscious, scoring a team-high 29 points coming off the bench. On the other hand, a young Reaves stepped up as the closer. With the game within one point, the former Oklahoma guard exploded for nine straight in the fourth quarter. Reaves was feeling the moment as he screamed, “I’m him”.

Anthony Davis would record a playoff career-high 7 blocks to go along with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 steals. After the game, he gave the fans an encouraging update as Mike Trudell revealed Davis claimed the injury won’t bother him moving forward.

Fans frustrated after watching AD injury

Countless horrific memories came back for the Laker Nation watching Davis hold his arm. With a reputation for being injury-prone, the fans did not wait to rip into the All-Star forward.

Many fans felt ‘The Brow’ is a ‘liability’ to the Lakers due to his constant run-ins with injuries. The Laker stans said, “This guy is such a liability to have on your team.”

“DAY TO F*****G DAY DAVIS”

“Didn’t even get through a half I cannot believe it”

“Bro allergic to being healthy”

“Damn, he is really made out of glass..”

While others believed the Lakers had no chance to stand up against the Grizzlies without Anthony Davis.
