The Los Angeles Lakers have been involved in many trade discussions and chatter and were speculated to have several players on their radar. With the latest reports, it seems that the franchise is open to going back to their former players for a decent roster. Last month, Kyle Kuzma was rumored to have a possible reunion with the team. This month, the spotlight is on 4x NBA All-Star, DeMarcus Cousins, who is set to have a workout with the Lakers next week.

According to Bleacher Report, Cousins is “expected to work out for the Los Angeles Lakers at some point next week“. Lakers fans are excited at the prospect since the team is currently reeling under an injury crisis.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the team was hit with a double whammy with two key players sidelined for at least 2 weeks. He reported that both Austin Reaves and Lonnie Walker IV would be unavailable due to their respective injuries. Reaves is battling a left hamstring strain and Walker is out with left knee tendinitis.

Cousins could hence fill in the blanks for the team. He is a former Lakers player, but unfortunately, he was cut off before he could play a single game, owing to his ACL injury. However, DeMarcus Cousins also has 11 years of experience in the league, and the free-agent center has been striving to make a path for him. He may be fishing for a contract with the Lakers, as the NBA has now allowed teams to sign players to 10-day contracts.

Cousins played for both the Denver Nuggets and the Milwaukee Bucks last season.
