The 2022-23 NBA season is nearly two weeks away from entering the All-Star break on February 17. Moreover, the preparations for the 2023 All-Star Game scheduled on February 19 are in full flow as the All-Stars and reserves have been recently announced by the league. Yet again, LeBron James will lead the Western Conference All-Stars who will face their Eastern Conference rivals marshaled by Giannis Antetokounmpo. And now, a significant update is set to bring in the Nikola Jokic impact on Team LeBron’s 5-0 All-Star streak.

LeBron James has a sensational 5-0 record in the All-Star games since the matchup’s format was changed by the NBA in 2018. Thus, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar faces a new challenge to take his streak to the next level during this year’s All-Star encounter. A recent update from the NBA revealed the coach who will be shouldering the responsibility of LeBron James’ Western All-Stars against Team Giannis.

As per a recent tweet from NBA Communications’ official page, “Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone and his staff will coach Team LeBron in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game.” The All-Star coaches are chosen from the top-ranked team in both conferences a couple of weeks before the All-Star Game.

Fortunately for Malone, his Denver Nuggets have the best (36-16) record in the Western Conference through Sunday, February 5. Malone and his staff secured a trip to Salt Lake City for the All-Star Game after the second-ranked Memphis Grizzlies lost against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday.

Given the work Malone has put in to make Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets the best team in the West, he could end up having a similar impact on LeBron James’ 5-0 winning streak in All-Star Games. Team LeBron hopes to increase their streak to 6-0 on February 19 against the star-studded Team Giannis. However, the coach of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s All-Stars is yet to be announced.

2023 All-Star Line-Up

Starting for the West team led by LeBron James will be Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Zion Williamson, and Nikola Jokic. Moreover, the Western Conference reserves will be Paul George, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jaren Jackson Jr., Damian Lillard, Lauri Markkanen, Ja Morant, and Domantas Sabonia.
