Over the generations, the LGBTQ+ community has faced many issues, including not being able to express themselves in society. In addition, a former NBA player recently spoke out in support of the community. There has been discrimination over this across the sporting world due to their gender or sexuality.

Charles Barkley recently talked about some of his thoughts on stage at Harveys Lake Tahoe, a Las Vegas hotel-casino. The incident occurred on Friday, and it has been making headlines since then. In recent days, social media has been flooded with videos of him supporting the community.

As we all know, sports are a huge part of people’s lives and they love the players and platforms involved. As well, there is a lot of debate over whether athletes should speak about social and political issues.

There are, however, a few NBA players willing to take a stand for what they believe in. In addition, they speak out on behalf of those in need. A few examples can be found, like when LeBron James spoke out against racism in Boston.

However, Charles’ comments have been making the rounds on the internet. His talk included the following statement: “I want to say this: if you’re gay, or transgender, I love you. And if anybody gives you sh*t, you tell them Charles says ‘f**k you!’” declared the basketball legend.

Whether it is because of his statements about NBA players or because of his accomplishments, Barkley is almost always in the news. It was wonderful to see Barkley talk about solving the discrimination on this issue. Social media users have been appreciating his statement.

There have been many celebrities who have taken a stand for the LGBTQ+ community’s rights, but few have taken a major step. It was a stark way in which Barkley showed his support. There still needs to be a great deal of work done in this regard to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable.
