Tennis legend Roger Federer recently shocked the world after he announced his retirement after dominating the sport for a long time. Since then, people have compared him to legends of other sports like basketball. Michael Jordan is a name that has been associated with Federer for quite some time.

The Chicago Bulls legend is widely considered one of the best players ever. The same can be said about Federer too. Recently, a tennis veteran put Federer on the same pedestal as Jordan and Tiger Woods.

Nicolas Almagro, the Spanish tennis veteran said, “Roger Federer’s retirement is a very significant loss. His arrival has changed our sport and taken it to a higher level. His impact is Comparable to Michael Jordan’s in basketball and Tiger Woods’s in golf.

Jordan and Federer share a good relationship based on mutual respect for each other. Moreover, MJ once watched Federer in action during the US Open back in 2014. As for Tiger Woods, he has starred in commercials with Federer in the past. However, it seems the two do not talk anymore.

Similar to Jordan, Federer once signed a deal with a company and quickly turned into the face of the company. The tennis star made a $300 million investment and became a stakeholder in On running shoes back in 2019.

Nike and Michael Jordan have a similar story. Nike signed Jordan while he was still relatively new in the league. People across the world questioned the company’s decision back then. The deal was struck and history was made as Jordan soon became the face of Nike.

Ever since signing for Nike in 1984, the six-time NBA champion has made over $1 Billion from the company. Thanks to such deals and various other investments, Michael Jordan has amassed a net worth of around $1.7 Billion. (Source: Forbes)
