The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t been in the spotlight since the departure of LeBron James in 2018. But that might just change with how the Cavs are looking at the start of this NBA season. After defeating the Boston Celtics in an overtime win, the Cleveland Cavaliers stand with a 4-1 record for the season. And it seems as if Donovan Mitchell has had no problems fitting into the Cavs system after being traded from the Utah Jazz.

The Cleveland Cavaliers ended up taking down the Boston Celtics 132-123. And it was one of the greatest battles of this season so far. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both notched up 32 points each for the night for a combined total of 64 points. But it was the Cavaliers’ duo of Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert that stole the headlines.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are making some serious noise in the NBA

Mitchell and LeVert both dropped 41 points each, bringing up their total to a whopping 82 points for the team. The momentum of the game seemed in the favor of the Celtics. They held the lead for the majority of the game until the 1:10 mark in the fourth quarter. That is when Cleveland was in striking distance and managed to drain all the right shots.

Donovan Mitchell was in the zone throughout the game but LeVert seemed to go on a roll in overtime as the Cavs had two times the points as the Boston Celtics. And NBA legend and analyst Charles Barkley is one of the many to take notice of the Cavs uprising.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are tied for second place in the eastern conference with the Atlanta Hawks. The Milwaukee Bucks are currently number one in the east and the rest of the NBA as well with a perfect 4-0 record so far.

The Cavaliers’ starting point guard, All-Star Darius Garland did not play the game. Since their first match against the Toronto Raptors, Garland has been sidelined due to an eye injury. But the rest of the squad has not let the pace down. And they have clearly been kicking it into high gear in his absence.

Let’s see if the Cavs can keep this momentum going when they play the Los Angeles Clippers in their next game.
