“That’s a D*mn Snitch Right There”: Former Teammate Bashed Michael Jordan Over Allegations He Made Through “The Last Dance” Series

In the 1990s, the Chicago Bulls were at their peak. They were by far the best team in the NBA. With Michael Jordan as the spearhead, they won 6 championships in just 8 years. Hence, when the ‘Last Dance’ came out, it instantly became a hit. The story is about the last season of one of the greatest teams ever assembled. However, it also caused a truckload of controversies. Players were unhappy with their representation. And MJ’s former teammate lashed out at him over false claims.
Jordan was a scoring giant ever since his rookie season. However, his dazzling display on the hardwood wasn’t enough to win. Being the ultimate competitor, not being the champ hurt ‘His Airness’. During this rough patch, Sam Smith’s ‘The Jordan Rules’ book started a turmoil. Major claims on Jordan’s true demeanor came out to the world. And during his iconic docuseries, MJ blamed Horace Grant for giving out the stories. However, after Scottie Pippen’s attack on MJ, Grant had some shots as well.
The 4 time NBA champion denied all the claims made during the ‘Last Dance’. In addition, he made some stinging comments about Michael Jordan.

The ‘Last Dance’ caused more pain than it did joy to the surrounding Bulls. Pippen was the first to start the fire as he felt the series focused on Mike. He went on a rampage about his former partner in championships. However, he wasn’t the only guy who felt the same. Grant was furious about Jordan portraying him as a snitch. Despite being good friends with Smith, the former Bulls forward said he would never reveal locker room stories to the outside world. But he didn’t stop by just clearing his name. Grant made sure his former all-time great teammate gets a lesson.

Grant went off about Jordan and put the snitch title above his crown. The 4-time All-Defensive star said: “My point is, he said that I was the snitch, but yet — and still after 35 years he brings up his rookie year going into one of his teammates’ rooms and seeing coke and weed and women. My point is: Why the hell did he want to bring that up? What’s that got to do with anything? I mean, if you want to call somebody a snitch, that’s a damn snitch right there.”

Off the court, this pair will probably never fix their relationship. However, their story on the court was the exact opposite. Grant was one of the biggest contributors in the Bulls’ first three-peat. Michael Jordan was the star of the night. But he couldn’t have done it without Grant’s defense. Notably, in the 1993 finals, Grant pulled out one of the most clutch defensive plays. A final second block on Kevin Johnson gave the Chicago Bulls their first three-peat. Hence, as competitors, this duo was always in tune.
