If basketball is entertainment, then Charles Barkley is arguably the critic. He often shares his insights and analysis and reviews the game candidly. He has towed the same line toward Hollywood as well. In the recent episode of ‘NBA on TNT’, the esteemed panel had celebrity star Mark Wahlberg feature on the show. Wahlberg is popular for his workouts as much as he is known for his acting.

The panel recalled the last time that Mark Wahlberg had graced his presence on the show. Wahlberg remembered that he had come before his film, ‘The Italian Job’, which was in 2003. Charles Barkley couldn’t contain his excitement. He exclaimed, “That’s a hell of a movie!”

The ‘Italian Job’ had a star-studded cast including Mark Wahlberg, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, and Edward Norton. It is a thriller heist film that engages the audience from the first minute. The film did massively at the box office as well.
During a late-night talk show, Barkley also mentioned that ‘Space Jam’ was the best movie in the sports genre. An avid film watcher and a movie buff, Barkley has also been on the other side of the silver screen.

Earlier this year, he partnered with Turner Sports to put out the documentary film, ‘The Great Debate’. The objective of the film was to challenge the definition of “greatness” in the game of basketball. The producers claimed that Barkley’s involvement in the project was mainly fueled by the fact that it was a “love letter to his NBA heroes”.

And he has been in touch with Mark Wahlberg as well. Years ago, Charles Barkley won a weightlifting challenge against Shaquille O’Neal. The contest was overseen by both Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg.
And for the unversed, Barkley is also a movie star! He has an IMDB page, something that many other basketball players can’t boast of. He has 28 credits to his name for acting so far, having featured on famous shows like ‘Modern Family’, ‘The Simpsons’, ‘Suits’, and many others.
