The Golden State Warriors faced their first real test of the season against the Phoenix Suns. And they did not show up as the Suns blew them out of the building. And NBA Legend Charles Barkley did not hold back against Klay Thompson, who was ejected from the game and also Draymond Green.

The Warriors started off their season well, but this was their first big test. The Suns were the favorites last year but a playoff collapse left them disappointed. But they still are one of the best teams in the NBA.

And they showed the Warriors that they should not be taken lightly as they blew them off the court in the second half. The game was close until the halfway mark, when the Suns started pulling away from the Warriors. And after Klay Thompson got ejected, the Suns shut the door on the Warriors.

Klay had a tough start to the season, and it continued in the Suns’ game as well. He was being shut down by Devin Booker and the Suns, which didn’t make him happy. He got into it with Booker in the third quarter and this resulted in his first career ejection. Thompson ended the game with just 2 points, going 1-8 from the field.

Meanwhile, Charles Barkley did not hold back while talking about Thompson. He said, ” As much as I love Klay- he’s slipping. Same thing with Draymond. They are not the same…I think you saw tonight, he was like, ‘This young boy is kicking my a**, ain’t nothing I can do about it…There was a time when Klay Thompson was the best two-way guard in the NBA and he’s not the same guy.”

“Is he done? No, I don’t think he’s done. I think he’s slowing down, and it’s catching up with him, that’s why he’s frustrated. I think the same thing with Draymond, he’s slowing down, we just saw in the Finals. Because his game is dictated on energy and once you get past 30, you start losing,” he added.

Thompson came back last season after missing more than two full years. He has shown signs of his greatness in flashes, but he has found it hard to perform consistently. Missing such a large chunk of time and having two major injuries can sure be hard on any athlete.

And Draymond Green has also suffered from injuries lately and he has not been at his best. His off-court controversy has also not helped his case. Hopefully, we get to see Klay Thompson and Green back to his best soon.
