Most NBA Champions stepping away from the court walk away on their own accord. However, 2016 NBA champion Tristan Thompson seemingly had to retire from the league on the back of depleting stats, injuries, and a ton of drama off the court. In his last season, the former Cleveland Cavaliers star played for three teams before finally calling it quits. However, things haven’t been going his way for the most part after his retirement. Amid all the polarizing stories about Khloe Kardashian and his cheating scandals, Thompson also came under fire a while ago for fathering a child with another woman. Meanwhile, the reactions to his recent ‘reminder’ revealed that fans haven’t left the 31-year-old off the hooks just yet.

Despite all the controversy, Thompson has made frequent appearances on ESPN on different segments. However, it appears that the NBA world isn’t the biggest fan of Thompson’s new venture.

Over the years, Tristan Thompson has had his fair share of controversies outside the court. Most notably, his relationship with Khloe Kardashian often made viral headlines. However, in 2021, the former NBA player took a major hit to his reputation after one of his cheating scandals took a drastic turn.

In December 2021, Model Maralee Nichols came out with a striking revelation that she was pregnant with Thompson’s child, Theo. After a paternity test confirmed that it was indeed the case, Thompson witnessed major pushback from fans.

Fast forward to today; unsurprisingly, the former NBA player hasn’t seen the end of it. On his Instagram handle, Thompson shared a thread of photos and videos revealing some behind the scenes footage from his recent appearance on the sets of ESPN.

In a brief clip, Thompson cited his ‘losses’ in the NBA to pacify the studio crew and asked them to stop panicking. “When you gotta remind the crew to stop panicking! Swipe to see the last slide,” the former Cleveland Cavaliers star wrote in the caption.

However, it seems like the former NBA star’s post completely backfired for him as fans poured in with their jibes in the IG comment section. Fans called him out for being a ‘deadbeat dad’ and a ‘baby daddy’. Moreover, fans didn’t hesitate to take shots at his new venture as a guest analyst at ESPN.

Here are some fan reactions on Thompson’s post:

“Let me Remind you about the child you don’t bother with 😂”

“When you gotta remind women I got 3 babymamas 😂😂😂”

“When you gotta remind how much baby mamas you actually have 🤣”

“This is certainly not your calling. Find your passion and stick with it”

“MAKING BABIES IS HIS CALLING 😂”

“Sleeping around with different women is his passion”

“It’s his voice 🤨”

“Female commentators better watch out!!😂”

Though Thompson’s post didn’t get the love from fans, Drake and former teammate LeBron James seemingly gave the approval by liking the post.

Besides Theo, 1, Thompson is also the father of three more children. Interestingly, he has fathered four children, three boys, and one girl, with three different women. Back in 2016, Thompson had his first child, Prince Oliver, 6, with model Jordan Craig.
