One of the biggest and most controversial changes that he made was to the verification process. Before, not everyone could get themselves verified or get the blue tick on Twitter.

Now the entire verification process has changed. People now just need to pay $8 a month to have the verified blue tick added to their account. This policy has received a ton of backlash as this new process has no verification, and this has led to many accounts being made that impersonate celebrities and sports stars, sharing fake news and causing chaos online.
Recently, accounts pretending to be LeBron James and NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski have caused a stir in the NBA world after the fake tweets were mistaken to be true.
