“There Is Literally No Way”: Bizarre Shaquille O’Neal Take from LeBron James’ Ex Teammate Leaves NBA World in Shambles

Many fans regard Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal as one of the greatest big men of all time. The 7’1” Los Angeles Lakers legend, who was a man among boys, dominated the league for the better part of two decades and won 4x NBA championships. Moreover, very few big men could contain the Big Diesel under the basket at the time. However, more than a decade after his retirement, the league has witnessed its fair share of dominant big men who could give Superman a run for his money.
Meanwhile, LeBron James’ ex-teammate J.R. Smith recently matched up the 3x Finals MVP against Memphis Grizzlies star Steven Adams and asked the internet for their opinion. Unsurprisingly, Smith’s questionnaire met with major engagement as fans flooded the comments to vehemently voice their opinion and crown the winner of the monster matchup.

Many fans who witnessed Shaquille O’Neal in action would corroborate his claim to dominance. The Big Diesel’s dominance and physicality under the paint were unprecedented in the league. So much so that it was next to impossible to referee O’Neal. Moreover, teams devised tactics like ‘Hack-a-Shaq’ to deal with him in the paint. However, all of them failed to stop the 7’1”, 340+ pounds of muscle and power on his way to an iconic three-peat and a Hall of Fame career.
Though very few big men could contest the Superman during his era, the NBA community has concocted hypothetical matchups with other great big men from different eras. Similarly, after last night’s fiasco, former NBA player J.R. Smith took to his social media and matched up O’Neal and 6’11” Grizzlies center Steven Adams asking ESPN and the internet “Would Adams stand @shaq up in the post if #Shaq posted him up?”
