However, they are not everything that represents the ‘Round Mound of Rebound’. In addition to being an outstanding basketball player, Barkley is also a son, a husband, a friend, and a father to his 34-year-old daughter Christiana. On January 15, two gruesome incidents took place in Alabama and Georgia that claimed three innocent lives. Alabama University basketball player Darius Miles and an acquaintance Michael Davis were charged with the murder of Jamae Jonae Harris. Whereas, in Georgia, a brutal car crash killed college football player Devin Willock and a staff member Chandler LeCroy. Being a father himself, NBA analyst Charles Barkley would very well understand the fear of losing a child. Therefore, in the recent episode of The Steam Room, Barkley talked about the two incidents and the impact they had on their family and friends.

He said, “I just feel tremendous sadness, we’ve lost three young people. I just feel sadness because I’ve seen all these things on television over the years and parents talk about, ‘Man, there’s nothing worse than losing a kid’.”

He added, “And I just wanna tell our audience and especially the kids if they’re listening, their parents…Man, the decisions you make, it’s a big deal and my heart goes out to the University of Alabama, the young lady who passed away, got killed and the young lady at Georgia and the football player at Georgia. I feel for their parents and their family and their brothers and sisters and their friends.”

The immediate perpetrators of the Alabama shooting were detained by the officials. However, a shocking report on the Georgia car crash recently emerged that might effectively end the career of NFL top prospect Jalen Carter.

The Georgia University incident

Jalen Carter was apparently racing his Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk against Chandler LeCroy’s Ford Expedition when the crash took place. LeCroy’s vehicle crashed against a power pole in Georgia before getting struck by multiple trees which further intensified the damage. Soon enough, the law officials arrived at the scene. As per reports, Carter explained that he was about a mile away from the crash site. Therefore, the incident was termed a single-vehicle accident. However, an updated report on the crash hinted at Carter’s immediate involvement in the accident.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Carter was present at the site when the crash took place and had reportedly given conflicting statements to the police. Following that, Carter turned himself in on the night of March 1 but was released 15 minutes later. He will be put on trial in April.
