The Los Angeles Lakers got handed another disappointing loss by the Boston Celtics in their last matchup. A game that was seemingly in the bag for the Lakers was thrown away due to shortcomings by the stars in LA, and after a video surfaced where the Lakers roster was seen playing football, fans were left outraged. Fans called out the team and its star players over their last-minute choices in the last game.

The Lakers lost to the Celtics 122-118. However, they had a sizeable lead going into the final three minutes of the game. It seemed as if the Lakeshow took their foot off the pedal, at least defensively, which led the Celtics to go on a 17-3 run.

Fans are furious at the Lakers after another disappointing loss

The Celtics managed to tie the game at the end and force it into overtime. But that wasn’t before LeBron James had the opportunity to win the game with a buzzer-beater for the team. Not only did James choose to shoot an arguably ill-advised shot, but the team could not hold off the Celtics in overtime.

One fan tweeted, “They doing everything but playing good basketball.” While another fan commented, “Can u guys practice on how to close the game.”

Here are some more reactions from NBA Twitter:

While fans seemed to blame Anthony Davis for choking in the last minute of the game, some of the blame also went to LeBron James.

A lackluster effort from LeBron James

In the final minutes of the game, one could see LeBron James seemingly slacking off on defense. He did not close out on Grant Williams taking a three-pointer, but lucky for him, Williams ended up missing the shot.

However, James then did the same thing with Marcus Smart, who managed to get free very easily while Jaylen Brown was being guarded by Anthony Davis. Due to James’ effort on defense, Smart converted that three-pointer to make it a two-point game.

On top of that, James’ final shot selection was an absolute head-scratcher for fans as well. He was already 3-10 from the field on the night and yet chose to chug up another three-pointer instead of choosing to go for perhaps a better percentage shot or run the offense through Davis.
