The recent Brooklyn Nets vs Los Angeles Lakers game was a star-studded affair as fans witnessed several celebrities in attendance. The Lakers are currently on their five-game road trip and their next stop was in Brooklyn for their matchup against the Nets. The courtside seats in the Barclays center was graced by actor/singer Selena Gomez, Michael B. Jordan, and several others who had most probably come to witness a matchup between Kevin Durant and LeBron James. However, certain circumstances prevented fans from yet another iconic faceoff after the Lakers’ game against the Boston Celtics.

The Los Angeles Lakers against the Boston Celtics game was every bit frustrating for fans as it was for King James. Following a missed call by the refs, the Celtics managed to defeat the Lakers for the second time this season.

NBA Twitter target stars who came to watch the Nets vs Lakers game

The Monday night’s game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers certainly lacked the ‘superstar quotient’. NBA stars Kyrie Irving and Thomas Bryant managed to lead their respective teams. However, the big names, i.e., LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Kevin Durant missed the game due to their respective injuries. As of now, Durant has missed a total of 10 games to date after he sustained a right MCL sprain during the game vs Miami Heat.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, King James was sidelined due to left ankle soreness. Whereas, Davis took the time off to rest with a right foot stress injury. While three of the major players were deemed unfit to take part in the game, it nevertheless witnessed several stars in attendance.

Former New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, New York Jets RB Breece Hall, actors Michael B. Jordan, and Jesse Williams, and singer Selena Gomez watched the Lakers take on the Nets in the latter’s home court.

Lakers fell short to the Nets

This was the second game of the Los Angeles Lakers’ five-game road trip and they failed to leave an impression in the Brooklyn Nets’ home court. The Lakers lost by 104-121 as they maintain their No. 13 seed in the Western Conference rankings.

Thomas Bryant led the team scoring no more than 18 points and nine rebounds. Russell Westbrook added 17 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists coming off the bench. New Lakers recruit Rui Hachimura scored 16 points and four assists.

On the other hand, Kyrie Irving scored game-high 26 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Nets shooting guard Cam Thomas scored 21 points, four rebounds, and one assist.
